Had an exciting past month!
Freedom Moves was an absolute blast running
with the
Drift Alliance guys in A group. I even had a
chance to
tandem with Gittin Jr. (thanks). Well, since
I had much crappier tires, my car weighs about
500 pounds more than his Mustang and I'm down
about 150 horsepower, it was more like trying to
catch up most of the time.
I got my SCCA license this past summer and also applied for a novice time trial license. Ran the PA Hill Climb - Weatherly event and had a blast. Although, I really wanted to drift up that hill instead.
Was able to dial in my suspension settings a little bit more at the last Wednesday Night Moves event in Englishtown, PA as you can see from the parking lot pictures below. Click on the Media tab for the link to my YouTube channel for all the updates.

I managed to take a couple pictures of yesterday's CJ Pony
Part's Customer Appreciation Day before the battery in my camera died.
It was a great event and a good chance to get out (Over 440 Mustangs showed up!). This was
also the first event for my new daughter, Shelby
"GT500" Allen, who was born less than a month
ago!
I took some time last Saturday to make a quick video submission for the Octane Academy, be sure to check it out and click the "FAME" button to vote! Thanks!
Super excited to get back into the drifting action too; this Saturday the 20th Tyson and I will be out at Englishtown, NJ for ClubLoose's Summer Moves!

New Jersey Motorsports Park with Clubloose was a
huge hit! Talk about a fast track, I was setting
up for the first two turns sideways at 85 mph
and still not going fast enough. Another 100 hp
or dropping 200 pounds would help with that
track.
We started tuning the shocks/struts and keeping a log of all the settings (sway bar positions, tire types, tire pressures, etc) this time around so hopefully we can get everything dialed in and working to its highest potential. I will say the new watts link definitely helped keep the rear planted and it felt like I had more grip in the turns. Time to get the car cleaned up and ready for the 2011 Carlisle All-Ford Nationals.

First of all, I'd be remiss if I didn't say a
huge thank you to my sponsors
this year,
HouseLogix and
Athetes For Christ! If it ever stops raining
here I'll get some actual photos, but for now
the vinyl proof will have to do:
I'm happy to report the car is back together and on the road. At this point all I have left is to align the front end and we'll be back in business. I had a chance to briefly test out the new configuration at the Carlisle Performance and Style show a couple weekends ago and everything held together nicely. Decided to head out to the Wednesday Night Moves this week and get some more testing done before the big track at NJMP on Saturday.

Well, the season opener at ClubLoose was last weekend and I
didn't make it. The car is still apart in the garage. Right now
we are trying to finish up the cage so I can get everything
painted and back together. Almost everything has been tacked in
at this point.
The modified spindle geometry has been worked out and still has to be fully welded back together. Brian finished up the rear which is now back in the car, but I need to finish the front suspension before I can set the pinion angle and also complete the watts link install. New goal: May 1st Tri-State Tuner Meet @ Sonic.

So, the lack of updates is probably due to the fact that I'm
posting this from Hawaii on vacation. That doesn't mean things
are at a standstill, however! Before I left the following
changes were started:
- The Mustang interior has been completely gutted and is now ready for the roll cage installation. All tubing is in and bent, ready to go.
- A Fays2 Watts link has been delivered and is ready to go. This should really help out with keeping the rear end planted and not shifting left to right like the stock panhard bar set up.
- Strano Performance adjustable front and rear sway bars are going to be new for this year. The front is already installed and adjusted.
- All the stock smog/evaporator equipment and lines have been removed to help save some weight.
- The doors have been trimmed of unnecessary metal to help get their weight down too. Sound deadening in these have also been pulled.
- I ordered an extra set of front spindles which (with the help of my friend Tyson) are going to be cut and welded for increased steering angle.
- BMR front tubular control arms are almost completely installed; this will help provide additional angle and drop another 15 pounds off the front end.
- A lightweight Deka battery will replace the stock unit for another 10 ish pounds off the front.
- I'm switching over to a 3.73 gear set in the rear and selling the 4.10 units. Last year the 4.10s were just a little too short, making me shift a bit too much for some of the courses we run.
- Since the gears are getting swapped and the diff isn't easily accessible with the Watts Link, I'm also installing a low profile Ford Racing diff cover.
I think that's about it for the upgrades, this year should be pretty exciting! If you didn't already notice, check out our racer profile on D-UP! for the series this year.

Welcome to the first post of 2011; Happy New Year!
Some big things are on the horizon for this year, it looks like twenty-eleven should be even better than the last. In case you didn't know, we have been actively seeking sponsorship to help take this endeavor to the next level. Thanks to some local businesses, still to be mentioned, we will have a stronger performing car that should do quite well.
Finally had time over the past few days to put together a short video from the Monticello D-UP footage. You can always check out the media tab for the latest; or view the video below:
